Will it fit a big cat?

Absolutely. Wires in the end panels (the house-shaped sides) and stiff panels running along the length keep its form, holding up to 30 lbs with no sagging or caving in.
Does Porto meet airline requirements?

For the most part, yes! Still, each airline sets its own slightly different rules for pets in the cabin, so confirm with yours ahead of your trip. Note that even one airline can have different requirements depending on the type of aircraft.
Does my cat get enough airflow?

Yes! Mesh panels in two spots provide airflow: one on the door and one in a window at the top center.
What does the empty carrier weigh?

By itself, Porto comes in at 4.75 lbs.
What is the best way to get my cat inside?

You have two choices: go in through either zippered side door, or through the top. A cat may prefer one over the other, so try each! Every zipper locks automatically, which keeps your cat from pawing it open from within.
What should I do if my cat has an accident in the carrier?

It happens! We picked materials that are really simple to clean. For a mess, take paper towels or a clean cloth and lift off any solids or extra liquid. Next, press a clean, dry cloth onto the spot to soak up whatever liquid is left. After that, spot-clean with a mild, fragrance-free laundry soap. Let it dry and take another look. Should a stain linger, use a household fabric stain remover, following the maker's directions for upholstery or spot treatment. For urine, pick up an enzyme cleaner made for pet urine, which most pet shops carry. The bed goes in the washing machine on a delicate cold cycle and should be air-dried. Minor scuffs or marks can be treated with a stain remover pen.
What size is it when folded down?

Collapsed and folded, it measures roughly 19 x 10 x 6". If you're putting it away for a long stretch, fold it up and tuck it in the included bag.
Does it hold up to scratching?

Our research showed that the mesh door panel is the part of a carrier scratched most often. We tracked down an extra-tough mesh that did very well in a scratch test we developed ourselves, which we run on every scratch-prone material to be sure it survives even the fiercest claws. The walls and base are also very tough, though a determined scratcher may leave marks on them eventually.
How well do the zippers lock?

Porto's zippers lock on their own. A small mechanism inside the slider needs the pull tab (the dangly part) to be tugged before the lock engages or releases. So if the carrier is left slightly unzipped, your cat cannot widen the gap from inside. No daring escapes!
Can I use this carrier in the car?

Yes. Loop your car's seat belt through the belt straps on the carrier and it will stay secured on the seat during normal driving. Keep in mind it isn't designed to protect your cat in a crash. Safe travels with your precious passenger!
